As adults, we wear many hats, we have jobs, families, friends, pets, priorities, and the list goes on and on! However, in my time in the medical field, I’ve seen patients put their health on the back burner time and time again until they reach a point of complete burnout.
Think about the last month—did you have any days where you felt “off,” exhausted, your mind felt foggy, or you didn’t feel yourself?
Many times, patients believe they’re in the clear just because they don’t have an immediately worrisome symptom, but ignoring signs of hormonal imbalance or the aging process can be just as dangerous.
At Silhouette Health and Wellness, I encourage all of my patients to invest in their health. Whether you’re dealing with low libido, having trouble thinking, your skin isn’t how it used to be, or you’re just not feeling like yourself, I want to help you get to the root cause of your symptoms.
Why You Should Invest in Your Health
Your health is an investment that is no risk, requires little money, and will continue to grow in value year after year. Rather than viewing your health as a cost, I hope you’ll see it as an investment, doing so could have a huge payoff for your future.
When I’m talking about investing in your health, I mean so much more than eating well and going to the gym. In fact, here are a few explanations for what I’m getting at.
1. Fight Disease
Staying on top of symptoms and keeping your health generally balanced can help you fight off and prevent future diseases. Together we’ll review your medical history and identify areas of risk and ways to combat them.
2. Improve Relationships
In my years of practice, I’ve met patient after patient that has said they’ve noticed their personal relationships suffering from their children, spouse, etc. due to a variety of issues like low energy, inability to think clearly, and much more. If we can pinpoint the cause of your symptoms, then we can get rid of them, allowing you to get back to your life!
3. Maintain Your Weight
I have seen plenty of patients who are struggling with maintaining a healthy weight, but the ones who can do so are the ones who are committed to a real strategy which takes time to develop. Crash diets and inconsistency won’t give you the tools you need to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
Put Your Health First
Investing in your health is actually much easier than you probably think. While I can think of a hundred different ways off the top of my head, I’ll stick with just a few for this blog post. However, feel free to get in touch with me any time to discuss your health concerns and a plan to help you feel your best!
If you’re ready to take control of your health, restore balance, and revitalize relationships here are just a few of my recommendations for investing in your health.
1. Evaluate Your Habits
You don’t even need to schedule an appointment for this one. Take some time alone to assess any risky behaviors you may have.
- How often do you smoke and drink?
- Do you wear a helmet when you ride a bike?
- Are you getting enough sleep?
Think about your daily routines and try to determine if you have any risky behaviors that may be worth discussing during your consultation.
2. Get Informed
Ignorance is bliss until it’s not. Don’t stay in the dark when it comes to your health. Keep a journal, or even a small notepad, to track how you feel each day. Note how you feel when you wake up, after you eat, in the afternoon, before bed, etc.
- Are you fatigued?
- Irritable?
- Have tons of energy?
Knowing this information is the first step to being in the know on your own health.
3. Use Your HSA
Many patients aren’t informed of all of the benefits of their health savings accounts. Get clear on your own and see if your HSA will cover different therapies like bioidentical hormone replacement therapy with pellets should you have concerns over hormonal imbalance.
